Bilfinger Westcon has a fabrication shop in Piqua, Ohio. Our segregated shops ensures that specific welding conditions are met for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The Piqua shop can manufacture built to order projects, engineered equipment, pipe spools, pipe supports and skid units.
Bilfinger Westcon provides specialty services including on-line hot tapping, on-line leak repair, and stress relieving. We provide these services in oil and gas, refining, chemical, ag/food-processing, power renewables, and mining/metals facilities.
The Piqua, OH location offers piping & modular skid fabrication with segregated stainless and carbon steel shops. They also provide Code fabrication and repairs.
A “hot tap” uses a drilling machine to cut a hole into an in-service, under-pressure piping system. This is done without service interruption or product leakage. Hot tap equipment normally includes a fitting designed to contain system pressure, a valve used to control the new connection, and a drilling or tapping machine.
Bilfinger Westcon performs hot taps ranging from 5/8 inch to 12 inches on a wide range of metal types.
Leak sealing provides immediate relief from failure of a valve, pipe, or fitting that causes a product to leak into the environment. Leak sealing services provide our customers with engineered, innovative solutions for a large range of temperatures and pressures. Our leak repair services are supported by a trained staff with decades of experience, proven sealants and packing, written procedures, and some of the most experienced field technicians and supervisors in the industry.
Stress relieving is generally specified after the welding of most materials. Removing or reducing the residual stresses generated by welding is required for improving the dimensional stability of welds. Without stress relieving, the material may suffer from service problems such as stress-corrosion cracking.
Bilfinger Westcon owns and operates its own stress-relieving equipment. The unit is a mobile unit that can provide services in remote areas.
